the first edition of the Diasporas Forum of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

The Department of Moroccans Living Abroad participated in the first edition of the Forum of Diasporas of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Ankara on September 8 and 9, 2026, under the theme “From Roots to Routes.”

The Moroccan delegation presented the Kingdom’s experience in managing the affairs of Moroccans living abroad, particularly in the areas of strengthening identity, mobilizing competencies, and simplifying procedures and services.

The forum concluded with a call for the development of a strategic vision aimed at moving beyond the traditional approach to diaspora engagement and toward the establishment of a genuine partnership for development, through the creation of sustainable mechanisms to mobilize their skills in service of both their countries of origin and their countries of residence.
